Release features pCon.planner 8.15

Release date: June 16th, 2026

1 pCon.planner and AI coming together to add magic to your project images

Creating renderings and enhancing them by auto-adding people and details to the scene? Turing your drawings into high-quality product presentations? Bringing your ideas to live by trying out different image styles? pCon.planner 8.15 incorporates generative AI image creation so you can let your creativity run wild.

The new feature is available in all three editions of pCon.planner.

1.1 Background

The new AI Image dialog is integrated in pCon.planner 8.15 on the Presentation tab. By connecting pCon.planner to OpenRouter as an external AI service, the dialog provides different options for the creation of generative images and the post-processing of classically rendered images. An external account at openrouter.ai is needed to create images. Billing is also done via OpenRouter. The cost is just a few cents per image, depending on image resolution and complexity of the prompt.

1.2 Connecting pCon.planner to the Rendering Service

On opening the AI Image dialog for the first time, you are prompted to enter an OpenRouter key. This onboarding page provides information on creating an OpenRouter account and a key.

1.3 AI rendering directly in pCon.planner

After entering your OpenRouter key in the dialog, you will get access to all of the AI image rendering features. AI rendering is currently based on Google Nano Banana. This AI model generates stunning visualizations while preserving the fundamentals and details of your drawing.

You can

  • create a generative image based on the active viewport
  • transfer a rendering from the Image dialog directly to the AI Image interface and refine it there
  • upload an image or floor plan from your file system to enhance it with the possibilities AI offers
  • enter a prompt without an image

The resulting images are stored together with your DWG file. If you open the file again, the renderings linked to your project become accessible through the AI Image dialog. Your images can also be saved locally. The new dialog is not only available in the drawing view. It can also be used to style your Layout pages by using your current layout as the base for generative image rendering.
