Activating the new AI feature in pCon.planner
Bring your ideas to life with a single click
With version 8.15, pCon.planner introduces the new AI image rendering feature that supports you within your usual workflow, allowing you to focus on what matters most without wasting time or resources: Innovative, lifelike design and boundless creativity in your interior planning.
An OpenRouter API key is required to enable the new rendering feature, which you will need to link to pCon.planner once. You can obtain this key from an administrator or generate it yourself. Follow our quick guide and you are ready to go in just a few easy steps.
Signing in
If you already have an OpenRouter API Key, follow these steps:
- Enter your OpenRouter API key in the corresponding field
- Click Start: The AI rendering feature is now activated.
Registering
If you do not yet have an OpenRouter API key, you must first create an account and generate the key yourself.
Preparation: Have your email address and a major international credit card (e.g., MasterCard, Visa) ready for the (minimum) initial deposit of $5. More information.
- Create an account and verify your email address.
- Top up your balance
- In your Workspaces, click on API Keys and configure the key settings (name, expiration date, etc.).
- Return to pCon.planner: Paste the API key (Important note: This is the only time the key is visible!) and click Start. The AI rendering feature is now enabled.
Selecting a suitable AI model
Available at launch are the Nano Banana, Nano Banana 2, and Nano Banana Pro AI models, ensuring the highest quality in image rendering.
Nano Banana
- Original Base Model
- Suited for basic concept sketches, simple graphics for social media and rapid prototyping
Nano Banana 2
- Speed-optimized Gemini 3.1 flash architecture
- Suited for creative workflows involving large volumes of data, continuous brainstorming and E-commerce
Nano Banana Pro
- High-performance Gemini 3 Pro inference model
- Suited for professional graphics and high-resolution technical illustrations and graphics in print quality

The cost of generating an image varies depending on the provider and model. As a general guide (as of May 2026): A high-quality image in standard resolution costs less than 10 cents on average with Nano Banana 2. More information.

If you use OpenRouter as a team or company, you can use a central administrator account to assign individual API keys to specific groups of people (e.g., with custom limits and the option to deactivate a key after a certain period of time).
